Surveys are coming and Art Print reveal!

Hello Backers!

Happy September- finally autumn is around the corner (Spring for our Southern-Hemisphere backers!) and that means that the hustle and bustle of summer is quieting down for us.

We don’t have too many updates this month, but we want to remind everyone that the SURVEYS will be sent out later this month so here is a FAQs  

What is the point of the survey?

The survey allows us to gather all the information we will need to produce and ship the rewards. On the survey, you will also be able to purchase Add-ons which include the products you will be able to get on top of the rewards. This is a great way to get an extra copy of the book for that friend you know will love it!

How will we get them?

The survey will be sent out to the email address linked to your Kickstarter account. We will notify you a few days prior to the survey being sent out. This email will contain information on how to complete the survey and any other survey-related information.

Will the “donate a copy of Murenga” be available as an add-on?  
The reception for the Donation tier and the donation add-on has surpassed our expectations and we couldn’t be more grateful! The Donation add-on will be available to purchase but the stock will be limited to 53 books and will be on a first come first served basis.  
If we sell out on these Add-ons, then we will have 200 donated books and we want to make sure these books are going to the right hands!

On Comic related things - the comic production is ticking along and we are very excited to share with you the first look at the Murenga Art print. This will be an A3 sized and will have the blue lines on the rocks and other bits foiled!

What has the Murenga team been up to?

Hello dear Backers! 

It has been over a month and a half since our last update, and we wanted to first and foremost thank you all for sharing and supporting this project it has surpassed even our wildest dreams and we couldn’t be more than eternally thankful!

What has been happening on our end of things you might ask?

Since the end of the campaign, we were able to take a company-wide wellness week- we all needed a break after a crazy first half of the year and come back energised for the second half.

On the comic- things are moving along nicely and surely! Some scenes are getting the re-write treatment after Nyasha realised how architecturally impossible it was for the scenes to take place in certain locations. Andrea on pencils and Jason on lines and colours are still dishing out some amazing comic pages. You are all in for a visual treat!

On the other side, our Ops team have been working on researching the logistics around the Donation tier and Add-ons, while sorting out some fulfilment and production partners to help us create the best rewards possible.

Now that the campaign is finished what can backers expect?

• A monthly update on how things are going on our end - this is our biggest campaign to date and Kugali is a small team, so we want to make sure we are as transparent about the process as possible.
   
• A survey in your inboxes in September. This survey will help us collect all necessary information for production and fulfilment.

Hello Kugali Family!

Firstly, a correction! We posted the wrong version of the variant cover, and wanted to change that! See below for the ACTUAL variant cover!

Secondly, we are just 5 backers away from breaking the record for the most-funded African-created comic book in Kickstarter history! Granted, we have the old record too, but it would be so, so good to break that record with a queer-forward comic, and really prove to the world that queer Afican stories are truly worth investing in.
